Big plans have been announced for the community of Desert Color in St. George, Utah. The 3.400 acre masterplanned community welcomed its first residents in December 2019 and has been expanding ever since.

A new development project will bring a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel-resort to Desert Color, local news report.

Atara Autograph Collection Residences

The desert resort, named Atara (Hebrew for “crown”), will offer its residence an experience centered around health and fitness aimed at athletes and adventurers who visit the area.

Spas, a business center, a gym, a pool and different dining options will be available, including indoor and outdoor fitness centers with gear, guides, and bicycle rentals.

The new Marriot hotel and conference center aims to welcome visitors who are driven to St. George for sports event such as the Ironman triathlon race and St. George Marathon, and anyone who wishes to experience the adventures that the desert of Southern Utah has to offer.

The new development project will offer 128 hotel rooms and 136 villas with 1-, 2-, 3- and 4- bedroom options.

Each residence is fully furnished and can be reserved in advance. So far no date has been specified for the completion of the project.

St. George is located in the most southwestern extremity of Utah, in the northernmost part of the Mojave desert.

Its location makes it especially appealing for desert dwellers who wish to pay a visit to the Red Cliff National Conservation Area, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the Coral Pink Sand Dunes, and other areas of interests in southern Utah.
