Today marks the 25th anniversary of the first Google Doodle, which was created to celebrate the Burning Man Festival on August 30, 1998.
The doodle was a simple design of a stick figure behind the second “o” in the word “Google”, and it was intended to indicate the absence of Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who were attending the festival.
