Competition Overview & Reglamento
SandSpirit2025 features three main disciplines: Duel Slalom, Cruz fronteriza, and Water Slide. Here’s what you need to know before you hit the dunes:
Who Can Participate?
- Open to all sandboarders and snowboarders.
- Riders under 18 must have written permission from a parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult.
- Age groups include U16 (born after July 10, 2009), Adultos, and possibly U12 (born after July 10, 2013) if there are enough participants.
Duel Slalom Regulations
- Qualification runs consist of one attempt on each of two courses; the best time counts.
- Finals are head-to-head races, with riders switching courses between runs.
- Penalties apply for gate errors or other infractions, with clear rules on tiebreakers.
- Serious mistakes can lead to disqualification.
Boarder Cross Regulations
- Helmets are mandatory, and additional protective gear is highly recommended.
- Qualification is based on a timed run; any errors will invalidate the run.
- Finals feature heats of four riders, with the top two advancing.
- The finish line includes a water crossing where both feet must stay in the bindings.
- Physical contact like pushing or pulling is forbidden and results in immediate disqualification.
Water Slide Regulations
- The goal is to cross the water completely with both feet strapped into the board.
- The run-up distance shortens each round until only one rider remains.
- If no one crosses, the winner is determined by the longest distance reached.
General Rules and Regulations
- Race numbers must be worn visibly and returned after each run.
- Protests are only accepted for specific reasons, such as course faults or interference.
- Organizers reserve the right to adjust rules during the event if necessary.
- All participants must sign a waiver and confirm they have health insurance; accident insurance is strongly recommended.
- Fair play and respect for organizers and fellow competitors are essential.

The event is currently facing financial challenges, so any support is appreciated. Donations can be made through the Ski Club, which can provide official receipts. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps keep the spirit of sandboarding alive and will be acknowledged online and on-site.
