NEOM, the $500-billion megacity project in Saudi Arabia, has revealed some of the names and details of its future regions and developments.

The project, which aims to create a sustainable and futuristic living environment, has registered a series of trademarks, including Treyam, Aquellum and Jaumur, which could hint at the names of future real estate projects.

Some of the other names, such as Gidori, Xaynor and Siranna, are in the travel, entertainment, leisure and amusement categories.

Six out of 10 regions announced so far

NEOM has planned 10 regions, each with a different theme and purpose.

Six of them have been announced so far, including The Line, Oxagon, Trojena, Sindalah, Leyja and the newly announced Epicon.

The Line is a 170-kilometer-long linear city that will have no cars, no streets and no carbon emissions.

Oxagon is the industrial city in NEOM that will operate with 100 percent renewable energy and host the world’s largest green hydrogen plant.

Trojena is the mountain resort that will offer adventure and nature activities.

Sindalah is the island resort that will feature luxury hotels and villas.

Leyja is the cultural and heritage region that will showcase the history and traditions of Saudi Arabia.

Epicon is the entertainment and sports region that will host world-class events and attractions.

NEOM signs deals with Bosch and Bain & Co.

NEOM has also signed deals with Bosch and Bain & Co. to accelerate clean industrial transformation in Oxagon.

The deals will help Oxagon harness the expertise of each organization to shape the future of manufacturing through investments in innovation, technology and talent development.


NEOM makes progress in the construction of the green hydrogen plant

NEOM has also made progress in the construction of the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, which will use wind and solar power to produce hydrogen and ammonia.

NEOM has received the first major delivery of wind turbines for the project, which were delivered at the Port of NEOM in Oxagon.

The project is expected to produce 650 tons of green hydrogen per day, enough to power around 20,000 buses.

NEOM is part of Saudi Arabia’s vision to diversify its economy and attract 100 million tourists by the end of this decade.

NEOM has completed the construction of a hospital, utilities and a number of roads within the city. More than 3,000 people from 90 countries are working on the giga-project, and over 60,000 construction workers are on-site.

NEOM is expected to create 380,000 jobs and contribute $48 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP by 2030.
