Kelowna isn’t a desert. Although it has dry, hot summers, it experiences a humid continental climate with cool, cloudy winters and annual rainfall of 691 mm (27.2 inches). The nearest desert-like area is the semi-arid Osoyoos Desert in the South Okanagan region.
